Weston’s new book explores Centre’s past
“Be scholars, be gentlemen, be Christians; all else is base ambition.” This quote, attributed to Centre’s John Yerkes, was the quote from which Beau Weston, professor of sociology, drew inspiration for his book on the history of the College, which will be released during homecoming this fall. The book, titled Centre College: Scholars, Gentlemen, and Christians, has been a project of Weston’s for about ten years.
